A daytime running bunny was spotted this week crossing behind the meadow which is sparse this time of year. I saw it again a few days later, or another one, as I spooked the rabbit and it ran from a hiding spot while I was out walking through the yard. Meanwhile, the nights are getting shorter and the days are growing longer. Sunrise occurred in the backyard this morning at 7:22. Sunset will arrive at 4:57 this afternoon. Having gained a whopping nine minutes this week, we're up to 9 hours, 35 minutes of much needed sunlight each day!Backyard Tip of the week:
Take a few minutes one day soon during this mid-winter break from sub-zero temperatures to explore your natural surroundings. A walk out in the sunshine and fresh air might be just the thing to remind you that spring is only 65 days away. Try it, you're sure to love it!.
Backyard sightings for last week:
Including northern cardinals, dark-eyed juncos, blue-jays, brown creepers, song sparrows, tree sparrows, white-throated sparrows.
