Autumn's grace has left us with warm days, cool evenings and a few chilly mornings, too. Even the cloudy days are easily forgiven as I look forward to the colorful fall foliage which always seem to stand out more distinctly against a grey sky. A few yellow areas can now be seen mixed in with the still mostly green hue of the trees on this mountain.Backyard Tip of the week:
See if you can schedule some quality time with yourself this month to experience nature's annual gift. There's really no better place than here in the northeast to see and enjoy the many vibrant fall colors. By all means, bring along a friend or loved ones, but do make it a retreat from any usual tensions or pressures. Simply breath in the cool, crisp fall air as you journey through your own colorful wonderland. You'll find any previous tensions or uncomfortable feelings being replaced with thoughts of peace and contentment as you allow yourself such a special moment to re-focus and rejuvenate. Try it, you're sure to love it!
Backyard sightings for last week:
Including northern cardinals, blue-jays, brown creepers, song sparrows, tree sparrows. Carolina wrens and Carolina chickadees, catbirds, mockingbirds, house finches, goldfinches. Red-bellied and downy woodpeckers. Northern flickers, white-breasted nuthatches, tufted titmice, mourning doves, crows, grey squirrels, red squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, bunnies, ground-hogs, bull frogs and only a few butterflies earlier in the week.
