Cool sightings of the week:
The Indian Summer like days of this week have brought a welcome sense of forgiveness for the unseasonably cold weather we'd been experiencing. I was basking in the fall warmth just Wednesday evening when a most unique and thought provoking event occurred. Five colorful hot air balloons were seen riding the air currents on the west side of the mountain near sunset and I found myself perplexed when it occurred to me that their seemingly magical beauty was being overwhelmed by the majestic natural wonder of the surrounding mountain's peak fall foliage. I was awestruck at the sight of such a thrilling combination and juxtaposition of colors and shapes as I watched the five balloons climb over the mountain one by one, each with their own style and grace. I found myself overcome with wonder at which was more beautiful, the incredible fall foliage or the many hot air balloons, when I realized that it was the combination of the two which offered such great pleasure. Ah, enlightenment! What a gift! Well, maybe it was just a brief moment of clarity... Either way, catching sight of so many beautiful hot air balloons flying over the mountain on a perfect fall evening with Autumn's colorful feast as its backdrop this week was very cool!
