Cool sightings of the week:
There was quite a frenzy at the backyard bird feeders last Monday afternoon. Upon closer inspection, it was noticed that at least half a dozen of the small white-breasted nuthatches were busily flying to and from the feeders in a seemingly frolicking manner. They were taking the black-oiled sunflower seeds and a few of the nuthatches were doing their best to stash a few of the seeds (would you believe?) underneath the shingles on the house roof.

Also this week, a series of interestingly shaped clouds were noticed during a few moments of childlike abandon as I just stood there and stared at the sky after the recent rains had finally passed. I caught sight of a few clouds that looked to be some sort of Egyptian symbols or other similar shapes and wondered if there might be some hidden meaning behind it all. Just then, one of the clouds lengthened and spread out a bit with the winds and seemed to take nearly the exact shape of an angel! I thought perhaps that was the hidden meaning I was looking for. I thought perhaps there might just be an angel watching over the backyard and me. Either way, getting in on a little white-breasted nuthacth frenzy and catching sight of an ethereal looking angel-shaped cloud over the backyard this week was very cool!
