Cool Sightings Of The Week:
Speaking of wet weather. I saw something this week that I'd never noticed in the backyard before. A bunch of very small snails! There was just one at first, the other night, and I saw it crawling up the garage wall. With it's round body shape and little antennas sticking up, I thought it looked like a tiny UFO! Well, I went back out the next night and there were now several snails on the wall. Then, I looked and there were a bunch of them on the driveway near the wall. Then, I looked again and there were even more of them on the other side and all around me on the ground. Oh, no, I said, in a desperate tone. Was I stepping on them, too? Well, I didn't notice that, but I did enjoy watching the strange creatures for a while as a light evening rain began to fall, leaving me covered in it's mist.

Also this week, about 6:30 last night, the rain finally stopped and a rainbow appeared in the eastern sky. Such a wonderful sight, I moved quickly through the yard to find a good spot and began snapping pictures. While trying to catch a good shot of the scenery, along with the rainbow, I noticed that there was indeed a hint of the treasured, yet elusive double rainbow! So, I stepped back a few feet to widen the shot and caught a few nice ones for the website.

Autumn's beauty has begun! Catching sight of a tiny snail invasion this week and finding a double rainbow in the sky, perhaps as reward for putting up with so much rain was very cool!
