Cool sighting of the week:
A couple... there's a brown spider that's been building its web in the butterfly bush next to the garage each night this week. The web is still visible in the morning, but is often damaged from whatever action took place the night before. That's no problem for this industrious spider, it builds a new one each night. Fortune smiled on me during Tuesday evening's calm winds when I was able to get a picture of the spider in all of its web-building prowess. Also this week, while working in the yard and making my way not far from the pond, a chipmunk was seen perched on a rock and standing straight up on its hind legs. Seemingly frozen in place, the chipmunk didn't move, but paid attention to my progress through the yard. This chipmunk looked a bit larger than most which may have added to its ability to stand up on its hind legs. I'm not sure. Either way, catching sight of some evening web-slinging entertainment and coming across a chipmunk posing as a mere-cat this week was very cool!
